Success Stories of Gram Tarang Trainees

Ranjeet Paricha

Ranjeet belongs to a BPL family. His father is a farmer & mother is a housewife. Due to financial problem he is suggested to dropout higher studies. After completion of his Intermediate he also started farming to help his father. In 2012 July he joined Gram Tarang under Govt. sponsored placement linked training program Data Entry Operator. After completion of his study, he got selected in the campus interview of Hinduja Global solutions Ltd, Durgapur & joined in 3rd January 2013 as a Customer service Associate (H2) with INR 8743 per month. After successful completion of probation period of 6 months , he promoted to Team Leader. Now he is one of the member of HGS – HR team & drawing salary of INR 17,000 per month. He is very happy with his job and able to support his family.

Hadibandhu Badaseth

Hadibandhu  is a deaf and dump from Khandhmal district. In 2012 July he joined Gram Tarang under Govt. sponsored placement linked training program Data Entry Operator. After completion of his study, he got selected by Computer Lab, Bhubaneswar as Back Office Executive with INR 4000 per month. After probation period of 6 months , he got promoted to Executive DVD Cutting. Presently he is working at Cuttack Branch of Computer Lab with monthly salary of INR 6,000

Bibhu Prasad Bachha

Bibhu belongs to a BPL family of Kalahandi District. His father is a farmer & mother is a housewife. The annual income of his family was INR 25000. Due to financial problem he was suggested to dropout higher studies. In June 2014 he joined Gram Tarang under Govt. sponsored placement linked training program Data Entry Operator. After completion of his training, he got selected in AEGIS Ltd., Kolkata & joined in September 2014 as a Customer Care Executive (CCE) with a salary of INR 7000 per month. After 9 months of his tenure, he got promoted to Senior CCE with a salary of INR 10000. He also rewarded as one of the Best Employee.. He is very happy with his job and able to support his family. He is financially supporting his younger brother for his higher studies.

Sagar Naik

Sagar belongs to a BPL family of Puri District. He went through BPO Associate training provided by Gram Tarang under a Govt. sponsored placement linked training program. After completion of his training, he got selected in Minacs Ltd., Kolkata and joined in March 2015 as a Customer Care Executive (CCE) with a salary of INR 7000 per month. After successful completion of probation period of 6 months he got promoted to Senior CCE with a salary of INR 13000. Before he joined the training, the construction work of his home was on hold due to financial crises , which he resumed and completed only within a year of having this job. And also supports his younger brother and sisters for their study. He is very happy with his present job.

Success Stories of Gram Tarang CCD Trainees

Failure is the highway to success. Tom Watson Sr. said, “If you want to succeed, double your failure rate.” If you study history, you will find that all stories of success are also stories of great failures. But people don’t see the failures. They only see one side of the picture and they say that person got lucky: “He must have been at the right place at the right time.”

Some of the success stories are as follows:

1. From a little town, with a little hope, found a little help and a little appreciation besides oodles of encouragement and support -today being the EMPLOYEE OF THE MONTH of the month for June for Café and EMPLOYEE OF THE MONTH of the month for September for Coffee Day Square. Also she was one of the 12 finalists for coffee competition, working in Coffee Day Square currently- Pushpanjali Mallick – is proud of her achievements.

Pushpanjali was a shy girl from Cuttack who knew very little Hindi. During her interview, she was rejected and was informed that she was waitlisted. However, on the day of admission, she turned up and requested to give her just one opportunity to prove herself. Looking at her dedication, saying NO wasn’t an easy task. Just that one chance she was looking for. She proved herself by becoming the best in customer service. Though she flunked in brew master’s, it didn’t deter her spirit to excel…she challenged herself and then there was no looking back. Today Pushpanjali stands tall, brimming with pride as she is one of our most successful trainees.

2. Meet Pritisudha Panda who soars high above today, as the EMPLOYEE OF THE MONTH – August

Initially she was a shy girl hailing from Cuttack. She worked in Chennai for 2 months but suffered a lot due to ill health. She was suffering from Jaundice. So her parents insisted that she returns home to her village without any further delay. Once she returned her parents didn’t want her to go back to Chennai. She convinced her parents, sought their blessings and went back to work in Chennai with grit and determination to excel.

Looking back she is happy that she took the right decision at the right time as she has not just come over her shyness but faces the world with confidence. Today her parents as well as all her managers are very proud and happy to have her on board. She gives us a ray of hope that indeed if one has the right kind of approach and attitude –they can come over any hurdles in life-may it be illness or primary family set backs. Thank you Pritisudha Panda’s story is indeed a very inspiring and a motivating one.

3. Meet Ajit Mandal from Batch 4 who is from Bokaro. Ajit used to stammer and had no confidence, besides being a person with low morale he never expressed himself and always maintained a low self- esteem. He was deployed in Bangalore- a big city for a shy boy from Bokaro. Ajit faced a lot of difficulties after being deployed. The café where he was assigned was quite far from his place of residence.

Once on his way back from café (closing shift) he was robbed and threatened. The other guy working with him ran away and never came back. Ajit was strong enough and decided to stay back and face the situation. He spoke to his café manager and HR and continued working in the same café. Today Ajit Mandal stands strong looking at life head on and claims proudly that he is the EMPLOYEE OF THE MONTH – September.

4. Meet Sk Nakir from Batch 7 .  Nakir comes from a financially not so well to do family background and in his entire family’s generation, he is the first one to be employed. He wanted to live his life on his own terms. Through sheer hardwork, dedication and determination he has been chosen as One of the finalists of GTBC.

Initially Nakir was deployed in Mumbai. He was very happy with Rs 30 biryani. His Café was in Bandstand – just opposite Mannat – SRKs residence and close to Salman khan’s residence. Later transferred to Pune where he has memories for his life time to share with his future generations to come.

5. Meet Gurudev Hansdah whose journey towards success began when he first entered Gram Tarang – Jatni centre.

One fine day, a young 18 yr old differently-abled boy from Mayurbhanj district of Orissa, entered the Café Coffee Day Lab enquiring about the course and to check his eligibility. In the first instance, he was rejected as he has only one hand and it was not feasible to place him in a customer centric role. He had a spark is his eyes, was very confident and wanted to be successful . His interview process was different from others. After lot of deliberations and special approvals, he was selected for the course. However, it was decided that he would work only in the coffee area and would not serve the customer. The rest is history.

He successfully completed his training in Gram Tarang and won the Gram Tarang Barista Championship (coffee competition). The Area Manager of Café Coffee Day, Orissa, Mr. Anirban Bhattacharya and Mr Arif Anwar, Lead Coffee Trainer, Café Coffee Day, East, were so impressed by his show that they wanted him to work in Orissa itself. Currently he is working as a Brew Master in Café Coffee Day, Richmond Road, Bangalore, which is one of the high volume cafes.
