Gram Tarang MSDC Ludhiana is a center of excellence of skill development setup by Gram Tarang in Public private partnership mode with Punjab Skill Development Mission (PSDM)of the Government of Punjab. The MSDC provides placement linked vocational training across engineering and non-engineering industry with linkages to key industry partners:

 

  • 1. Ashok Leyland (heavy vehicle maintenance),
  • 2. Tata Motors and Uber (driving),
  • 3. Godrej & Boyce (CNC, Machining and Fabrication),
  • 4. SEDA, Australia (fitness instructor),
  • 5. Dassault (CAD/ CAE for automotive and engineering),
  • 6. Café Coffee Day (coffee brewmaster),
  • 7. Apparel Manufacturing and Fashion Design as well as on office computer executive, professional soft skill training and English speaking.

The courses will be available across education and skill qualifications – from school drop outs to B. Tech and MBA graduates. Most of the courses will be for manufacturing sector job roles and will range from design, sales, manufacturing and servicing related courses. Courses will be certified by NATIONAL SKILL DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION, GOVT. OF INDIA, and industry partners, Centurion University and / or Sector Skill Councils.

The MULTI SKILL DEVELOPMENT CENTRE is constructed in the campus of the centrally located Government ITI, near Arora Palace, gill road, Ludhiana. It consists of a state of the art training centre building as well as hostel facilities for boys (200) and girls (100). It is in a large campus with a playing field, fitness centre and free WIFI access. The MSDC has the capacity to train students coming from all over the state of Punjab.

The MSDC will also be providing training free of cost to economically weaker sections of the society (MNREGA, LABOUR & BPL card holders), these will be supported by PSDM. Residential placement linked training courses where the entire training and hostel cost will be covered by the PSDM on behalf of the candidates. The beneficiaries can be both rural and urban poor youth (both boys and girls).
